The Vespertine - Saundra Mitchell I didn't really like this book. First of all her writing seemed kind of pretentious, and she didn't explain the fantasy elements much. It was mostly about the main character's romance with another character, and the romance wasn't a well written one. You didn't get a feel for why they cared for each other so much, because the girl fell in love with him AS SOON AS SHE LOOKED INTO HIS EYES (and heard his voice in her head) and then there was a lot about them being in different social classes but not much else. It seems to be a thing in YA fiction now to have love at first sight and leave it at that without going deeper, which makes it hard for me as the reader to relate or really care.
